The short version
Overload is a workout log, not a medical service. We don't diagnose conditions or sell your data.
You can use the iPhone app without an account — workouts stay on your device. If you sign in, we store your email and synced data on our servers so you can access it across devices.
Core workout logging is free. Optional Overload Pro features are billed through Apple In-App Purchase; we don't receive your payment card details.
What we collect
Without an account: workout data (exercises, sets, reps, weights), body weight entries, and app preferences stored locally on your iPhone. We don't receive it unless you sign in and sync.
With an account: your email address (from Sign in with Apple or Google), name and profile photo when provided by your sign-in provider, workout and body-weight data you sync, and app settings (rest timer, units, alert sounds).
Overload Pro (optional): subscription status synced via RevenueCat from Apple's App Store receipts. We don't collect payment card numbers.
AI Coach (Pro): messages you send, optional photos and voice notes you attach, and a compact snapshot of recent training data used to personalize replies.
Diagnostics & product analytics: crash reports, performance data, and anonymized or pseudonymous usage events (see Analytics & crash reporting).
Standard server logs (IP address, user agent, request timestamps) for security and reliability, like any web service.
How we use it
To run the app: show your history, calculate progression suggestions, sync data when signed in, deliver AI Coach replies, and manage optional subscriptions.
To keep the app reliable and improve it: diagnose crashes, measure performance, and understand which features people use.
To help Apple evaluate App Store refund requests for in-app purchases (see App Store refunds & Apple).
We don't sell or rent your personal information. We don't use your workout data for advertising.
App Store refunds & Apple
If you request a refund for an Overload in-app purchase through Apple, Apple may ask for information about how that purchase was delivered and used — for example, whether it was delivered, whether a free trial or sample was provided, and related subscription or entitlement status.
By using Overload and making in-app purchases, you consent to our sharing of data regarding your usage and consumption of purchased content with Apple as part of resolving refund requests. That sharing is done only as needed for Apple's refund process, through our subscription partner RevenueCat on our behalf, and in line with Apple's policies. We don't sell this data.
Refund decisions are made by Apple. We may submit consumption information and a handling preference; we do not control Apple's final decision.
Analytics & crash reporting
We use PostHog for product analytics (for example, which screens and features you use). When you are signed in, we may associate events with your account id so we can understand usage across sessions. We do not use PostHog for advertising or cross-app tracking.
We use Sentry for crash reporting and performance monitoring on the iPhone app and our servers. Sentry may also capture limited session replay when an error occurs or for a small sample of sessions; on-device text and images in those replays are masked.
We don't run third-party ad trackers or request App Tracking Transparency permission.
Local storage & cookies
The iPhone app stores workouts and preferences on your device using local storage. Our marketing website uses essential cookies for session management when you browse logged-in pages on the web.
Your choices
Guest mode: use the app without signing up and keep workout data on your device only. Guest mode still may send crash reports and anonymous product analytics needed to run and improve the app.
Delete account: in the app, open Profile → Delete account to permanently remove your account and synced data from our servers. Local data on the device is cleared as part of sign-out.
Active App Store subscriptions must be cancelled separately in your Apple ID subscription settings; deleting your account does not auto-cancel billing.
